About this event
Santral Istanbul's Energy Museum preserves the original turbines, generators, and switchboards of the Silahtarağa Power Plant exactly as they were when the station closed in 1983. The machinery is monumental and strangely beautiful. After the museum, the surrounding campus hosts rotating contemporary art exhibitions in the converted industrial halls. A combined visit takes two to three hours; the Golden Horn waterfront location makes it easy to combine with a walk along the shore. Entry to the galleries is often free on the first Sunday of each month.
